Gallery Assistant Intern

Zawyeh Gallery in Dubai is currently seeking a highly motivated and reliable person for the role of Gallery Assistant Intern. The ideal candidate must be organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and be interested in pursuing a career in the arts.

We are looking for an intern to start mid-July and commit to five days a week. We will work to accommodate your schedule to the best of our ability.

This is a great opportunity for a graduate or undergraduate student looking to gain hands-on experience in the art business.

Responsibilities:

• Daily administrative tasks as assigned by the Gallery Manager
• Creating and updating records as requested: contacts, inventory, artist imagery
• Managing and maintaining the gallery’s online presence both on social media and on other dedicated platforms
• Developing content for our communication platforms: email, social media, managing and growing our community of users, shaping our brand identity through email database, social media
• Light art handling for installation and de-installation when required as well as some packing for shipping duties.

Qualifications:

• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Possesses strong written and oral communication skills
• Art history, design, curatorial studies, or fine arts background required
• Fluency with Mac platform and the Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, photo editing, digital photography, video
• An interest in contemporary art, the art market, and the art world
