As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will be Hitachi ABB Powergrids’ telecommunications expert for the complete Middle East region. You will be part of the Middle East Collaborative Operations Center based in Dubai; UAE, which is responsible for providing expert technical support to customers and driving the adoption of new products in the region. Your Responsibilities
- Technical Contribution: Working with tendering teams to understand end-client specifications and propose technical solutions to meet requirements. Providing advanced engineering services to customers such as install base management, training, and upgrades. Troubleshooting and technical support case resolution for Hitachi ABB Powergrids technologies, both on-site and through secure remote access systems.
- Sales Support: Developing and maintaining professional relations with customers, consultants and end clients to understand their requirements and promote new technologies to the market. Pre-sales support including presenting to customers and driving the pre-qualification/homologation of HAPG technology.
- Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Leading or supporting the development of new technology. Maintaining a network of engineering professionals to keep abreast of latest trends and best practices in the field of telecommunications for grid automation.
- Processes and Tools: Studies various advanced sources and proposes solutions for development of new processes and tools. Leading in the creation of new process and tools to enhance engineering effectiveness of business in the long term. Ensuring that activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
- People Leadership and Development: Coaching, providing support and technical advice to colleagues
- Assigning tasks for and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. May form and lead small project teams to deliver assignments.
- Finance and Budget: Contributing to achieve agreed financial targets for a technology, business area or consulting team.

Your background
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical and/or Communications Engineering with more than 6 years of work experience in Telecommunications for mission critical applications.
- Thorough knowledge of Wired communications applications (Multiplexing, SDH, PDH, MPLS-TP) LAN/WAN Systems, routing and switching, PABX/IP Telephony. Wireless systems, standards, and specifications (WiFi, cellular technology).
- In-depth knowledge of Hitachi ABB telecommunications products an advantage.
- Analytical, technical thinking with a focus on detail and willingness to take ownership when solving complex issues.
- Ability to travel up-to 20%.
