Senior Technical Engineer

As received a leading Dubai base Main Contractor is looking for a passionate Senior Technical Engineer / Design Coordinator to join their professional and friendly team.

With a variety of loyal clients, the successful candidate will assist with management of the whole design process for projects that predominantly revolve around Industrial sector and distribution centers, to ensure compliance and maximize value engineering opportunities at both tender and construction phase.

You must have previous experience working as part of a Design Team, under client and contractor instruction. Job runners with experience in steel frame would be preferred but candidates with a background in Architecture and Structural Engineering will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have experience across a range of sectors including, but not limited to; Commercial, Industrial, distribution centers.

You must understand Building Regulations and obtaining plan check approvals, Sectional Applications and working with statutory authorities through the technical vetting process, developing design alongside statutory services as well as working to Information Required Schedules.

Impeccable communication and strong leadership skills & Demonstrable experience in client and consultant liaison.

Main Duties

• Coordination and work with the design office or a group of design and / or architectural offices.
• Ensuring that the designer’s work is delivered on time, in the ordered quality, and within the budget.
• Consideration and finding optimal design solutions.
• Define the relevant permits and organize them (or transfer this responsibility to someone else).
• Participation in the selection of the subcontractors.
• Responding to technical inquiries from the Client/Engineer.

• Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process
• Keeping up-to-date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design
• Working in an office, with occasional site visits.
