We have a great opportunity for Senior Urban Designer to join and collaborate with our Architecture and Planning group.
You will gain experience in a range of small to large scale international projects which will see you involve in preparing urban design concepts, sketches, drawings, and reports for a variety of urban design, Landscape and master planning projects undertaken by the UAE office.
Your responsibilities are:
- Perform all phases of the design process for Landscape & Urban Design Projects including Concept, Schematic and Detailed Design Documentation, report writing , specification writing, ,3D modelling, Local Authority submittals & permitting, hardscape and plant material selection.
- Deliver entire technical landscape packages independently with review from senior team.
- Client Engagement role, to understand our clients’ needs and to develop appropriate end-user focused solutions
- Organization of project materials & information according to Design Process.
- Coordinate with all disciplines and sub-consultants.
- Communicate with highly effective questions and problem-solving skills.
- Manages, coordinates, and leads urban design projects independently with less oversight.
- Participate in Technical Design workshops / Design charettes.
- Leads the in production of project design reports and Detailing.
- Provide urban design solutions from Concept to DD.
- Must have worked / completed Landscape projects using Revit.
- Providing creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities
- Understands all applicable UAE authorities’ requirements and coordinates with various discipline’s technical inputs into a project.
- Coordinating with design Engineers for resolution of related issues
About you:
- A minimum of 8 years professional experience with local and international consultancies across small to large-scale master planning and landscape projects
- Proven skills and understanding of urban design concepts, forms, scales and typologies, as well as local building codes and regulations
- Clear understanding of local and international construction methodologies and design regulations implemented in master planning and landscape projects
- Undertake Job Management role, including but not limited to job/ fee estimate, program preparation and forecasting
- Highly proficient using AutoCAD 2018 or higher, Sketch up & Revit, InDesign Adobe illustrator, Lumion or 3DS Max
- Strong design and presentation skills, including freehand drawings and use of Photoshop and InDesign
- Ability to complete accurate deliverables to a high standard and within a timely manner, including drawings, reports, models and calculations where applicable
- Experience in the delivery of Construction Information with regard to the technical delivery of Urban Planning & Landscape focussed projects
- The ability and experience in the delivery of detailed construction specifications for Landscape focussed projects
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary practice
- Ability to understand his / her own project programme requirements with regards to timeline and fees
- Proficient with Microsoft office packages
- Excellent English communication skills – both oral and written
- Good Business Acumen and Client Relationship Skills
- Conducting tasks in a manner which is consistent with GHD standards
