Accounts Assistant

 

Description:

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing support to the finance and accounting department by assisting with various tasks related to financial transactions, record keeping, and administrative duties. This role requires attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and proficiency in financial software and spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process and record financial transactions: Assist in preparing and processing invoices, expense reports, purchase orders, and other financial documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  2. Accounts receivable and payable: Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any discrepancies.
  3. General ledger maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and performing data entry tasks.
  4. Bank reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  5. Assist with financial reporting: Provide support in generating financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Help in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or areas of improvement.
  6. Expense tracking and analysis: Track and categorize expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies. Assist in analyzing expense patterns and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  7. Assist with audits: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  8. Maintain financial records: Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. File documents and maintain an efficient record-keeping system.
  9. Administrative support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
  10. Stay updated on financial regulations: Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and best practices, and assist in implementing necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  3. Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheets (Tally)
  4. Knowledge of financial principles and practices.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  8. Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
  9. 1-2 years of Prior experience in a similar role in accounting or finance is a plus.
