Bachelor's degree or equivalent in instrumentation or Electrical Engineering

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in a similar industry. To be from the power/energy/utility background and having sufficient related work exposure

Responsibilities

  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish Unified customer view and field service view in a contact center.
  • Interactions with, managing and front-facing the clients, both business and technical.
  • Gathering new customer requirements as per the needs and requirements from business, creation of Change Requests (CRs) as per feasibility study along with partner team, submission of CRs to the customer and implementation of the approved CRs along with the partner team.
  • To attend meetings with the client as and when required/needed/scheduled.

2. Operational Management & Oversight:

  • Involved in, to Integrate AMI and other applications to enable AMI System Fully Operational at Command Centre till we get sign off from customer.
  • Involved in Design and implement a 24x7 Operations Centre for smart metering operations.
  • Will manage the AMI Command Centre – (Onsite).
  • Run the AMI Command Centre – operations during and post smart meters rollout (Onsite).

3. Technical Implementation & Systems Integration:

  • Involved in AS IS STUDY by Use of geospatial technology to aid situational awareness and system visualization.
  • Requirement Gathering, Customer Interaction, AS IS STUDY, Co-ordination with AMI Application Partner and existing Data Analysis and Design.
  • Preparing & Getting Customer Sign Off on Technical Design Documentation.

4. Team Management & Development:

  • Training and capacity building sessions on AMI Operation Solutions needs to give to Customer AS & WHEN required.
  • Training and capacity building sessions on AMI Operation Solutions and relevant subjects of Power/Energy/Utilities related to customer needs to give to the team members AS & WHEN required.
  • Supporting specialist activities as Power/Energy/Utilities Business Analyst and Functional Expert.

5. Service Level Agreements & Customer Onboarding:

  • Develop SLA with implementation partners.
  • Incorporate mechanisms for customer on-boarding.

The AMI Communication Engineer ensures optimal performance and functionality of the telecommunications equipment within the Automated Metering Instructions (AMI) system. They are tasked with safeguarding a reliable and secure “Client” AMI telecommunication network, addressing the vital operational demands of SMOC.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts in identifying and resolving issues related to Smart Metering Solution equipment, conducting daily health checks such as those on Electricity meters, Water gateways, DCUs, and Communication tools bridging Data Center and Smart Metering.
  • Anticipate and schedule both corrective and preventive maintenance for all telecom platforms, both wired and wireless, guided by SMOC reports to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Oversee proactive surveillance and repair of end-to-end communication, encompassing smart meter transmissions, data concentrators, and technologies like GPRS, 3G/4G, NBIoT, and RF.
