Description:
The ASE is responsible for monitoring and supervising the structures/paint/machining tasks during the shift on all Etihad fleet using Etihad’s GCAA CAR 145 Maintenance approval. This includes the evaluation, assessment, repair procedure in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) specifications and the final certification in line with GCAA standards to maintain required safety levels.
Accountabilities
- Assesses aircraft or engine reported damages and executes repairs necessary as per OEM instructions.
- Reviews the Structure Repair Manual (SRM) or Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) for damage assessments, and repair procedures.
- Make sure the correct/applicable manuals/documents are used.
- Review and certify the structural repairs performed by the structure’s technicians using the approval manuals/documents.
- Communicate with Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) for any out of limits damages.
- Record and document the repairs/inspection using the internal procedures and processes.
- Lead the structures/paint team in shift and distribute the workload as necessary.
- Evaluate the permanent repairs required and make sure all tooling and materials are arranged.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Familiar with, enforces and follows the procedures stipulated in the Safety and Quality Management Manual (SQMM) and becomes an active participant in the workplace safety program.
- Encourages colleagues and is actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or safety risk.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Aeronautical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering – Preferred
- Experience: 10 years in aviation with degree OR 15 years without; 3 years in a team lead role
- Formal training in aircraft structures/composites – Required
- Must have a valid B1 Aircraft Maintenance License as background
- Proficient in SRM, CMM, AMM (preferably EY Fleet: A350, B787, B777, A320, A380)
- Able to assess damage and certify repairs per OEM and GCAA standards
- Leads structures/paint/machining team during shift operations
- Communicates with MCC and ensures compliance with manuals and procedures
- Documents repairs using internal systems
- Promotes clean, safe, FOD-free working environment
- Active participant in SQMM and safety reporting culture
- Must complete Mandatory Induction Training within 6 months of joining
