Description:
The Assistant Resident Engineer – Landscape is responsible for supervising and monitoring landscape construction activities including hardscape, softscape, irrigation networks, and public realm works to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and project schedules. The role supports the Resident Engineer in managing contractors, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery and handover of landscape assets.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise landscape construction works including hardscape, softscape, irrigation, parks, playgrounds, jogging tracks, street furniture, and associated public realm works.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions related to landscape and irrigation works.
- Ensure all landscape activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, authority regulations, and project quality standards.
- Monitor site progress and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely completion of works in line with approved construction programs.
- Inspect landscape materials including plants, trees, irrigation components, paving materials, and external finishes prior to installation.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, utilities, architectural, structural, and MEP teams to resolve site interface issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare snagging reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action follow-ups.
- Verify completed works, measurements, and quantities for contractor progress valuations and payment applications.
- Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
- Review and verify as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals related to landscape works.
- Attend technical, progress, and coordination meetings with contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
- Support testing and commissioning activities for irrigation systems and water features.
- Assist in project closeout, inspections, and handover of landscape assets to the client/end user.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports related to landscape activities.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in landscape construction supervision projects.
- GCC/UAE experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, public realm works, and landscape construction methodologies.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure, residential, mixed-use, or master community developments.
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality and relevant UAE authority standards.
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction documentation review.
