Parsons is looking for an experienced and talented Assistance Resident Engineer (Tunnel Engineer - TBM Works) to join our construction supervision team! In this role, you will assist the Resident Engineer - Tunnels in overseeing construction activities related to the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) aspects of TBM tunnel construction works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

What You'll Be Doing

Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of tunnels, underground structures, and associated works.
Monitor and oversee the TBM aspects of tunnel construction activities, ensuring execution aligns with approved project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Collaborate with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team to ensure seamless coordination of activities.
Review & ensure the parameters provided at each TBM machine for excavation to minimize the risk during the machine advance.
Identify the risk during TBM operation through monitoring the applied face pressure, Grout injection pressure & TBM's software application to avoid any high risk during the TBM advance.
Monitor TBM annular gap grouting, Ring Installation, greasing and maintenance activity.
Supervise the Inspector’s based on TBM at his shift in each machine.
Control TBM safe operation specifically under main roads, close to adjunct buildings.
Coordinate with Geotechnical Team and I&M team to closely monitor the operation at critical zones
Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and correspondence related to tunnel works, and prepare responses for the Resident Engineer's review.
Provide on-site technical assistance and guidance to construction teams to ensure compliance with quality and safety objectives.
Coordinate with design engineers to resolve structural issues encountered during construction.
Maintain accurate and detailed daily diaries and reports prepared by inspectors.
Work closely with contractor engineers to manage scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking for tunnel construction.
Supervise and guide inspectors and surveyors to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
Convene and lead meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address construction-related issues.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of construction records, including as-built documentation.
Oversee the implementation of safety procedures specific to tunneling works and ensure adherence to project safety goals.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports for the Resident Engineer.
Provide on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions related to tunnel works and associated items.
Verify and measure completed work, record progress, and assist the Resident Engineer in comparing progress against the project schedule.
Ensure the correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings and oversee the handover of tunnel works to respective service authorities.
Analyze engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and resolve any discrepancies during construction.
Ensure construction quality and adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements


What Required Skills You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in supervising tunnel construction, particularly in metro rail or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of Tunnel Boring Machine, operations and related works to tunnels and underground works.
Understanding of risks associated with TBM operations
Familiar with TBM's software application to minimize risks during the TBM advance.
Understanding requirements of monitoring TBM operations of annular gap grouting, Ring Installation, greasing and maintenance activity
Knowledge of materials used in tunnel construction, such as concrete, steel, and shotcrete.
Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, and ensure compliance with project specifications through acceptance sampling plans, testing, and quality measures.
Proficiency in utilizing computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and use project-specific engineering and construction-relevant software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong technical writing capabilities.
Working knowledge of construction sequences, methods, and standard work procedures in the tunneling industry.
Experience working on large metro rail projects with tunnel sections is highly desirable.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to tunnel construction and infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in tunnel construction.
