Assistant Cost Controller

Description:

Intercat Hospitality, a recognized name in the UAE’s catering and hospitality sector, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Cost Controller to support the financial efficiency of operations in Abu Dhabi. This role is pivotal in tracking and controlling costs to ensure optimal budgeting and expense management within our fast-paced catering environment.

As an Assistant Cost Controller, you will work closely with the finance and operations teams to monitor inventory, analyze variances, and assist in implementing cost control procedures that align with company goals. Candidates with prior experience in catering or hospitality environments will be given preference due to the industry-specific cost considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, analyze, and report on cost variances in food, beverage, and operational supplies.

• Track daily inventory usage, identify discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation of wastage and transfers.

• Assist in developing and maintaining cost control policies and procedures.

• Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure accurate purchase and inventory data.

• Analyze consumption trends and assist in forecasting future needs.

• Support monthly closing activities related to cost reporting and reconciliation.

• Collaborate with kitchen and service departments to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising quality.

• Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with financial controls and company policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in catering or hospitality.

• Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, inventory management, and accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP experience is a plus).

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills in English.
