Astronomy Conservation Guide

Description:

We are currently looking for an Astronomy Conservation Guide to Join our diverse operations team.

What you will be doing:

Are you passionate about the night sky and what lies beyond in the vastness of space? Do you enjoy interacting with people from all over the globe, and are excited by the opportunity to provide them with an experience they can treasure for a lifetime? Can you craft an engaging story of the land and people of the UAE, guiding their camels across the sand-sea in search of safety and resources, relying on nothing but generations of desert knowledge and the stars to show them the way? If so, then we want to hear from you!

With the popularity of space on the rise, integrating the history of astronomy with the future of our understanding is very important to us. From showing objects in a telescope many lightyears away, to thrilling large crowds with tales of stellar mythology, your skills will need to be quite diverse. As part of your onboarding process, you will receive extensive in-house training where you will be introduced to the heritage and culture of the UAE, along with operations and service training.

In your role as an Astronomy/Conservation Guide, you will be one of Hero Experiences’ brand ambassadors, conducting the highest quality safari experiences while making the trip a memorable one for our guests. Luxury desert experiences, authentic Bedouin culture, and open, star-filled skies are waiting for you to learn about and communicate to the varying array of clientele who are looking for a more traditional and eco-friendly experience. The Astronomy/Conservation Guide's mission is to ensure that an all-encompassing cultural, celestial, and wildlife experience is offered with a focus on catering to the specific needs of each guest. You will be spending a reasonable amount of time between the city and the pristine desert, driving, coordinating guests and tasks among our desert venues, and accomplishing F&B and service duties.

· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Astrophysics, Physics, and/or geology

· Minimum 2 years as an Astronomy tour guide, not hemisphere specific

You should also have a strong speaking voice and be comfortable talking in front of large crowds. Minimum age of 21 is required, along with a valid manual driving license from your country of origin and 1+ years of driving experience.
