Description:
TalentLink is supporting a leading UAE organisation in the recruitment of skilled AV Technicians responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced audio-visual, lighting, and control systems.
The role is operationally critical: the selected technician will ensure uninterrupted performance of show systems, immersive attractions, architectural lighting, live-event environments, and integrated control platforms. The position requires strong technical expertise, rapid problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-reliability support in fast-paced, mission-critical settings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & System Monitoring
- Perform daily start-up, shutdown, and health checks for all AV, lighting, and control systems.
- Monitor system performance to ensure high uptime and immediate escalation of faults.
- Operate show playback environments, interactive systems, audio consoles, projection systems, LED displays, and architectural lighting.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on audio, video, lighting, networking, and control assets.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to:
- Speakers, amplifiers, DSPs
- Projectors, LED walls, media servers
- DMX lighting fixtures, control consoles
- Integrated show control platforms
- Document incidents, root causes, and remedial actions.
3. Live Event Technical Support
- Provide on-site technical support for corporate events, conferences, performances, and high-level gatherings.
- Configure audio, video, lighting, and streaming setups according to event requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues during live operations to ensure seamless delivery.
4. System Upgrades & Integration
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and configuration of AV, lighting, and control systems.
- Support programming and adjustment of lighting environments, Digital audio consoles (Midas, Yamaha, Behringer, etc.) and control systems
- Maintain structured cabling, patch bays, equipment racks, and networking components.
5. Architectural & Outdoor Lighting Support
- Operate and maintain façade lighting systems including LED fixtures and lighting control consoles (e.g., GrandMA).
- Program lighting scenes and adjust themes for special events or seasonal requirements.
- Ensure compliant maintenance of outdoor-rated equipment.
6. Access Control & System Integration (as required)
- Support installation and configuration of electronic access control devices.
- Conduct functionality checks and coordinate with security or IT teams for system reliability.
7. Equipment Handling & Documentation
- Manage equipment preparation, testing, inventory, and storage.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance, inspections, system status, and technical reports.
- Follow HSE standards and safe working practices at all times.
Required Technical Skills
Audio
- Strong experience with digital/analog audio consoles (Midas M32R, Yamaha, Behringer, A&H).
- Understanding of DSP configuration (Q-SYS, BSS, Extron).
- Wireless microphone systems and conference audio.
Video
- Operation of projectors, LED displays, media servers, switchers, and processors.
- Familiarity with Extron, Crestron, and similar routing systems.
Lighting
- DMX lighting programming and operation.
- Hands-on experience with GrandMA consoles.
- Knowledge of architectural and outdoor lighting systems.
Control Systems
- Hands-on experience with Q-SYS, Medialon, Extron, Crestron or equivalent control platforms.
- Understanding of show control sequencing and automation.
Networking & Infrastructure
- AV-over-IP fundamentals.
- Rack layout, cable management, signal flow, and troubleshooting.
- Integration of peripheral systems such as access control.
Soft Skills & Behavioural Expectations
- Ability to work under pressure in high-visibility environments.
- Fast and structured troubleshooting capability.
- Effective communication with technical teams, supervisors, and event stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on AV experience in events, hospitality, theme parks, attractions, exhibitions, or similar environments.
- Technical certifications in AV/lighting/audio (Extron, Q-SYS, Crestron, GrandMA, NEBOSH/HSE, etc.) considered an advantage.
- Experience with complex show environments, immersive installations, or live events is strongly preferred.
