What You Will Be Doing

  • Carry out all branch tasks, ensuring all activities are completed within timescales and with a high degree of accuracy, whilst providing excellent customer service, to both external and internal customers, and adhering to all appropriate process and procedures.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of the branch.
  • Ensure optimum cash management.
  • Approve and authorize all teller transactions within approved limits as per authority matrix.
  • Ensure cash tills are balanced on a daily basis.
  • Be the Joint custodian of cash held by Head Tellers, Tellers and cash held in ATM / EDM and main vault with Head Teller.
  • Ensure all transactions and other routine processing is done as per laid down operating procedures, processing standards and central bank guidelines and ensure due diligence is carried out with respect to money laundering and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and initiate improvements to work, customer services, quality, work processes, and organizational matters in order to contribute to business efficiency goals.
  • Provide specialist information, guidance and advise to customers through the delivery of excellent customer service to resolve customer queries and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that individuals under supervision have appropriate levels of competency and skills in order to effectively carry out their roles.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to the team members by setting objectives, evaluate performances, identifying development needs and motivate staff.
  • Identify and act on ways to improve own knowledge and skills, and as a consequence improve the knowledge and skills level of the branch team.
  • Maintain awareness of the branch’s Business Continuity Plan and undertake appropriate training to ensure correct action is taken in the event of an incident or disruption.
  • Undertake a wide range of data gathering and analysis, identifying information and/or the development of solutions in order to meet the business requirements.
  • Perform all tasks as required or instructed by the line manager to support the smooth operation of the branch.

What You Should Have

  • University degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in banking operations

  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports and other written material usually of a detailed and technical nature
  • Possess good knowledge of the relevant policies, practices, processes and procedures in own areas of responsibility
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques to identify issues/trends to provide recommendations and solutions
