Description:
A leading switchgear manufacturing company in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Business Development Manager to lead sales and market development efforts across the UAE and GCC region. The role demands strong technical proficiency in electrical distribution systems including LV, MV, and HV switchgear, along with an ability to drive growth through strategic client engagement and sales execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Strategy & Sales Growth:
Formulate and implement effective business development plans to boost market presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.
Identify and engage with potential clients including utilities (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA), EPC contractors, oil & gas companies, and industrial players.
Promote electrical distribution products such as switchgear, RMUs, ATS, and panel boards.
Meet annual sales targets and ensure a robust pipeline of prospective projects.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and governmental organizations like ADNOC, Aramco, and Qatar Petroleum.
Deliver technical presentations, conduct product demos, and lead client negotiations.
Represent the company at major industry exhibitions like Middle East Energy, ADIPEC, and BIG 5 Dubai.
Technical Sales & Tender Management:
Analyze technical requirements and standards (IEC, ANSI, BS) to advise clients on the most suitable solutions.
Review and respond to tenders issued by utilities and EPCs.
Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to develop customized solutions.
Competitor Analysis & Pricing Strategy:
Continuously track competitor offerings and pricing strategies.
Recommend effective pricing models that ensure market competitiveness without compromising profitability.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
Minimum 5 years of sales and business development experience in switchgear or electrical distribution products.
Deep understanding of switchgear design, protection systems, and electrical networks.
Strong network with EPCs, utilities, and industrial sectors across the GCC.
Proficiency in technical sales and knowledge of product specifications.
Fluency in English; Arabic is highly preferred.
Willing to travel across GCC for business development activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA in Sales or Marketing is a plus.
Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce, Zoho, or HubSpot.
Familiarity with regional electrical standards and regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SASO, QCS).
