Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong background in the insurance Broker industry. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of proven experience in insurance sales, with the ability to manage a client portfolio worth at least $1 million. This role focuses on acquiring new clients, nurturing long-term relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across general insurance lines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Acquisition & Portfolio Development

  • Leverage existing networks to onboard clients with portfolios of $1 million or more.
  • Identify, engage, and convert prospective clients to expand the company’s insurance portfolio.

2. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting general insurance products.
  • Maximize revenue through effective cross-selling and up-selling strategies.

3. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, delivering tailored insurance solutions aligned with client needs.

4. Market Research & Strategy

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and evolving client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to design and execute strategic business development plans.

5. Coordination & Compliance

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding, policy issuance, and client servicing.
  • Adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

6. Reporting

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, highlighting revenue progress and client engagement metrics.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years in business development, sales, or account management within the insurance industry.
  • Portfolio Management: Demonstrated success in managing client portfolios of at least $1 million.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a competitive sales environment.
