Primary Role
- sourcing for capex projects (materials & services) for the EU / UK region, managing a regional budget of XM EUR.
- new role within Solenis, where currently Capex sourcing is managed by either the Engineering team or outsourced to Contractors. The purpose of this new role is to develop the Capex sourcing function in Europe, with counterparts doing the same in North & Latin America.
- sourcing defined as running RFPs / negotiations / supplier selection / etc, whereas tactical or transactional sourcing (e.g., PO creation / invoice audit / etc.) is covered by back-office sourcing support.
Key Accountabilities
- of supply base: developing market knowledge and identifying qualified suppliers / subcontractors (10%)
- management: developing strong relationships with Engineering team and other capex project stakeholders (30%)
- negotiation: design of bid packages (templates) for bid execution, incl. master service agreements (MSA); leading bid executions for the EU region, incl. RFI, RFP, bid analysis and stakeholder alignment in function of supplier award; review and negotiation of change order issues with suppliers (30%)
- execution: work with tactical sourcing support to ensure timely creation of POs and follow-up of equipment / service delivery; coordination & facilitation of supplier meetings with internal project stakeholders (10%)
- improvement: support and participate in internal procurement/Solenis team goals and activities to enhance processes and team function (5%)
- resolve purchasing related issues / requests between department and vendor (5%)
- & development: invest 5% of time in personal development through a combination of on-the-job learning and virtual / in-person training courses (5%)
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent; engineering, business, finance, supply chain education preferred
- Greater than 3 years’ experience in sourcing / procurement for the EMEA region (or a part thereof)
