Description:

A hypermarket operation in Ajman is currently seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join its retail team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and can handle high customer traffic while maintaining accuracy and professionalism at the checkout counter.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transactions efficiently, ensuring smooth payment processing, and delivering a positive shopping experience for customers. Candidates with previous experience in hypermarkets or large retail environments will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process a large volume of customer transactions efficiently using barcode scanners and POS systems
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, debit/credit cards, and loyalty program transactions accurately
  • Carefully bag purchased items while ensuring proper separation of perishables, fragile goods, and chemical products
  • Address pricing issues, customer concerns, or return requests calmly and professionally
  • Perform end-of-shift cash drawer reconciliation and report any discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly checkout area

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working as a cashier in a hypermarket or large-scale retail setting
  • Currently based in Ajman or able to commute easily to the location
  • Familiarity with modern POS systems and basic computer operations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English
  • Knowledge of Arabic or Hindi/Urdu will be considered an added advantage
