Data Management Engineer

Description:

A leading organization in the oil and gas sector is seeking an experienced Data Management Engineer to join its project team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on managing and organizing well log data and supporting Final Well Report (FWR) analysis for large-scale energy operations.

The selected candidate will play a key role in extracting, standardizing, and managing geological and logging data while ensuring high levels of accuracy and consistency. This position is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise in well data management and a solid background in geoscience or petroleum-related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Extract logging program details and well information from Final Well Reports (FWR).

• Create and maintain an inventory of available and acquired well data, identifying gaps and digitization requirements.

• Standardize logging data into the required ProSource format.

• Load well information into PSE systems and well logs into PSL databases.

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports ensuring accuracy and data integrity.

• Ensure proper data management, quality control, and consistency across all datasets.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in well log data management or a similar role.

• Strong academic background in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.

• In-depth knowledge of Final Well Reports (FWR) and logging operations.

• Strong analytical, reporting, and data management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF handling.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Preference will be given to candidates currently based in the UAE.

• Strong knowledge of:

• Well log data management and interpretation

• Final Well Reports (FWR) and logging workflows

• Data standardization and formatting (ProSource)

• Database systems such as PSE and PSL

• Reporting, data quality control, and analysis tools
