Job Title : Editor (English)

  • JOB PURPOSE:

Perform variety of editorial duties, such as laying out, indexing, and revising content of written materials, in preparation for final publication. Responsible for developing the Company’s content strategy, as well as creating its deliverables, including the technical aspect of content creation. Develop strategic content goals. Create content and manage content distribution. Collaborate with other departments on content creation. Analyze key performance indicators to determine content effectiveness.

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Editing and Content Development

  • Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability.
  • Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Allocate print space for story text, photos, and illustrations according to space parameters and copy significance, using knowledge of layout principles.
  • Plan the contents of publications according to the publication's style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
  • Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
  • Review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production.
  • Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal.
  • Oversee publication production, including artwork, layout, computer typesetting, and printing, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Create, write and manage user documentation for Company products.
  • Coordinate on cross-functional teams to determine content and training needs.
  • Assess, test and document new and upcoming product features.
  • Draft and review product design and requirements documents.
  • Draft and manage corporate style guide and terminology conventions.
  • Coordinate with product management and engineering to execute content features into system.
  • Execute internal processes to create documentation and content.
  • Develop print, electronic and web communication to support company goals and client needs.
  • Support company publications and information dissemination.
  • Research and collect information for departmental and company communications.
  • Execute internal communication processes.
  • Create new courses, classes and tools to update current offerings.
  • Coordinate with ADNOC Group Corporate Communication teams to create enablement deliverables.
  • Provide support in developing training manual for business units within ADNOC Drilling.
  • Execute and uptake training deliverables.
  • Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
