Description:
A leading EPC contractor delivering major onshore and offshore Oil & Gas, Energy, and Industrial projects across the UAE and wider Middle East is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its engineering team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering, and coordination of electrical systems for EPC projects from FEED through detailed engineering, procurement support, construction, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical engineering deliverables for onshore and offshore EPC projects.
- Prepare and review single-line diagrams, load lists, electrical equipment specifications, cable schedules, and design calculations.
- Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protection coordination studies.
- Design MV/LV power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, battery systems, and grounding systems.
- Prepare hazardous area classification and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate with process, instrumentation, mechanical, structural, and project engineering disciplines.
- Review vendor drawings, technical bid evaluations, and supplier documentation.
- Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, project requirements, IEC standards, and industry best practices.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, design reviews, and technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical design engineering experience within EPC contracting companies.
- Proven experience working on onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of international standards including IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, and relevant client specifications.
- Experience with power generation, substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, VFDs, UPS systems, and electrical distribution networks.
- Proficient in engineering software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, Dialux, and MS Office.
- Familiarity with ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or other major Oil & Gas operator standards would be advantageous.
