Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electro-Mechanical Inspector to join our team in the UAE! In this role, you will support site supervision by inspecting electro-mechanical works on infrastructure projects, ensuring that construction, operation, and maintenance activities comply with contract requirements, approved methods, and quality standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Being fully aware of requirements specified in the Contract Documents for electro-mechanical works.
- Providing advice on construction-related matters for electro-mechanical systems.
- Inspecting operation, maintenance, and construction activities (including temporary works) to ensure compliance with approved methods, maintenance programs, and contract requirements.
- Maintaining records of inspections, work executed, and related documentation.
- Assisting in measuring work done when required by Assistant Resident Engineers (AREs) and the Resident Engineer (RE).
- Monitoring the quality of materials and workmanship for electro-mechanical installations.
- Assisting in the preparation of as-built drawings and participating in the inspection of completed works.
- Preparing snag lists and supporting handover of works to the operating authority.
- Ensuring performance of the work in strict accordance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
- Maintaining a detailed daily diary of work activities, issues, approvals/rejections, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, and signing it at the end of each day.
- Interfacing with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work, to help mitigate construction impacts.
- Coordinating daily with the Contractor’s engineers and foremen to advise on proper execution of the works.
- Coordinating with the Materials Inspector to arrange sampling and testing of completed work, and quality assurance testing for suspect materials.
- Coordinating with Surveyors to check line and grade of completed works for conformance with plans and specifications.
- Reporting questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the AREs or RE.
- Reporting to the Assistant RE or RE any failure by the Contractor to conform to plans and specifications or to provide good workmanship.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience on infrastructure projects, especially in:
- Roads and bridges lighting
- Electro-mechanical systems
- CCTV systems
- LV & MV networks
- Protection and relocation of existing dry utilities
- UAE experience is a must.
- Equivalency certificate (for UAE) is a must.
