Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for an ELV Technician based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The ELV Technician will install, terminate, test, and maintain Extra Low Voltage systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, PA/BGM, structured cabling, and related security and communication systems. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings and wiring diagrams, routing cables, mounting devices, performing system configuration, and assisting in system commissioning and handover. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. The ELV Technician will coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on-site, prepare basic reports or checklists, and may guide helpers or junior technicians. A valid UAE driving license is required, as the role may involve travel between project sites within the UAE.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in ELV systems, including installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and structured cabling systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and manufacturer manuals for accurate implementation.
- Hands-on experience with electrical tools, testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, cable testers), and safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, site safety practices, and basic understanding of local authority and civil defense requirements for ELV systems.
- Valid UAE driving license with willingness to travel between sites, conduct on-site visits, and respond to service calls as needed.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with engineers, supervisors, clients, and other trades on busy project sites.
- Minimum of a technical diploma, ITI, or equivalent certification in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field; relevant ELV certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience as an ELV Technician or similar role in the UAE or GCC region is preferred; fresh candidates with strong technical aptitude may be considered.
- Ability to work under time pressure, follow project schedules, maintain documentation.
