Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Estimation Engineer to join our team in the UAE. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle Request for Quotations (RFQs), source competitive offers from reliable suppliers, distributors, and OEMs, prepare accurate cost estimations, and support the sales/procurement cycle with timely and professional quotations. The Estimation Engineer will also play a key role in negotiating terms, optimising pricing, and ensuring competitive and compliant submissions to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- RFQ Handling & Quotation Preparation
- Review and analyse RFQs received from clients.
- Identify suitable suppliers, distributors, and OEMs for requested items.
- Prepare cost estimates, techno-commercial offers, and quotations in line with company policies.
- Supplier Engagement & Negotiation
- Source and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing, compliance with specifications, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate terms related to pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and warranty/after-sales support.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing and new suppliers in the UAE and internationally.
- Estimation & Costing
- Accurately estimate costs for goods, equipment, and materials based on supplier feedback and market benchmarks.
- Verify and cross-check specifications, material codes, and technical details against client requirements.
- Ensure estimation margins are aligned with company targets.
- Coordination & Documentation
- Liaise with the sales, procurement, and technical teams to finalise and submit quotations.
- Prepare detailed commercial proposals and maintain a database of supplier quotations and pricing history.
- Track submitted quotations, follow up with suppliers and clients, and provide regular reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in estimation, procurement, or sales support within Oil & Gas, Energy, EPC, or Industrial Supplies sectors in the UAE/GCC.
- Strong understanding of vendor sourcing, RFQ handling, and cost estimation practices.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen with attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication in English (Arabic is an added advantage).
