Description:
The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates and tendering to final accounts. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget, in line with contractual and quality standards, and support the commercial success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for excavation, grading, concrete, asphalt, drainage, and other civil works.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope information.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals and tender documents.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing records.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in civil estimating or related construction roles.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel).
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods and materials.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
