Description:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our team immediately in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have proven exposure to the contracting sector and be comfortable handling day-to-day accounting tasks, vendor and client invoicing, reconciliations, VAT reporting, and supporting month-end close activities. Strong ERP/QuickBooks skills and solid Excel ability are essential.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Submit invoices and progress claims to clients via supplier portals and alternative submission channels, ensuring timely and accurate filing.
- Regularly review and reconcile customer accounts to maintain accuracy and swiftly resolve any discrepancies.
- Receive, validate and process supplier invoices in line with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and schedule vendor payments, including cheque issuance and electronic transfers.
- Verify and process employee expense claims for reimbursement, ensuring adherence to policy.
- Record daily financial transactions into the accounting system and keep well-organized records for auditability.
- Manage petty cash operations efficiently with proper documentation of disbursements.
- Perform account reconciliations as required to guarantee ledger accuracy and resolve variances.
- Prepare VAT reports and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support In-Country Value (ICV) related tasks when needed to contribute to local content reporting.
Expertise & Tools
- Proficient with ERP systems and QuickBooks.
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and reconciliations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (or equivalent).
- 3–4 years of hands-on finance experience in the contracting industry is required.
