Job Summary:
To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract.
Responsibilities:
- To perform the professional duties of a Gastroenterologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
- To perform his duties in the G.I Clinic, evaluating patients with G.I. diseases.
- To perform G.I. procedures - upper and lower G.I. endoscopies, liver biopsies, E.R.C.P. oesophageal motility studies.
- To provide consultation/referral services to the inpatient services in his area of expertise.
- Provides after working hours on call emergency coverage for G.I. emergencies.
- Provides supervision and education to the endoscopy staff, nurses and technicians.
- Participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service (e.g. monthly mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, audit and chart review).
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
- Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved Medical School & 3 years Residency training in a recognized residency in Gastroenterology
- Preferably a native Indian language speaking Female candidate
- Current license in country of origin with Specialist Gastroenterologist HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, DHA license to practice in Dubai or MOH license to practice in Sharjah
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of practice in the field of GI.
- Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. He / she must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
