General Accountant

Description:

A growing organization in the Construction and Civil Engineering sector is seeking a skilled General Accountant to support its expanding operations in the United Arab Emirates. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can efficiently manage financial operations while ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.

The successful candidate will oversee the complete accounting cycle, prepare financial reports, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete accounting cycle, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations.

• Process supplier payments and prepare customer invoices accurately and on time.

• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain complete and accurate financial records.

• Support financial operations while contributing to the organization’s continued growth.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and ERP/accounting systems.

• Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail.

• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of:

• General accounting principles and financial reporting.

• UAE VAT regulations and accounting compliance.

• ERP systems, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
