Geographic Information System Developer

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Developer to design, build, and optimize high-performance geospatial applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GIS development, spatial data processing, cloud-based deployments, and modern web mapping technologies. This role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable GIS solutions that support enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications, services, and automation scripts using modern development frameworks.

· Implement advanced spatial data models, queries, and geoprocessing workflows.

· Develop web mapping solutions with custom widgets, dashboards, and interactive visualization.

· Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise systems via APIs, ETL tools, and middleware.

· Optimize performance of geospatial systems including caching, tiling, and indexing strategies.

· Collaborate with UI/UX teams to enhance map experience and usability.

· Conduct code reviews, ensure version control, and maintain technical documentation.

· Support deployment and lifecycle management across on-prem and cloud environments.

· Evaluate emerging geospatial technologies, data products, and standards.

· Mentor junior developers and support team knowledge development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Geoinformatics, Engineering, or related fields.

· 5+ years of hands-on GIS development experience.

· Strong command of ESRI stack:

• ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro
• ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Web AppBuilder/Experience Builder
• ArcGIS REST/Feature services

· Proficiency in programming languages:

• JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL

· Experience with spatial databases:

• PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial, Oracle Spatial

· Hands-on experience with geoprocessing automation and ETL tools (e.g., ModelBuilder, FME).

· Strong understanding of geospatial data structures, projections, topology, and standards (OGC).
