Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Health Safety Environment Officer, located in Dubai. The Health Safety Environment Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. Daily tasks include conducting risk assessments, monitoring workplace safety, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, and providing training to employees on health and safety practices. The Officer will also handle incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide facilitation and leadership in managing a safe and healthy workplace for all staff and visitors.
- Ensure that HSE is regarded as a high priority and is continually improved through action planning and best practices procedures.
- Facilitate implementation of Health & Safety Procedures.
- Training and familiarization of staff with procedures, Policies, Documentation etc.
- Regularly review and update existing Health & Safety Procedures.
- Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP), including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure all workers are provided with proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and are trained in its correct use.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for workers and subcontractors.
- Liaise and brief Clients on internal Procedures and HSE plan.
- Review / comment in Contractor-submitted OH&S manuals, statements, etc.
- Supervise HSE Staff at core Team, assigning inspection schedules, training requirements and arrangements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, municipality guidelines, and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Maintain a register of all incidents and accidents that occur across the relevant projects or sites, issuing non-conformance notices.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Health and Safety or Engineering.
- 5+ Years of experience in High Rise construction Projects.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate.
- Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills
- Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Occupational Health
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations
- Experience in a construction or contracting environment.
