Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Draftsman (GI Duct Specialist) to join our factory team in Umm Al Quwain. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC drafting, with a strong focus on GI (Galvanized Iron) ductwork. The role involves preparing accurate shop drawings and coordination layouts for HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed HVAC drawings (GI ductwork layouts, sections, and details) using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Develop fabrication and installation drawings based on project specifications and site measurements.
- Coordinate HVAC duct layouts with other disciplines (plumbing, electrical, civil) to avoid clashes.
- Create BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and material take-offs for GI ducts and accessories.
- Ensure all drawings comply with ASHRAE standards, local codes, and project requirements.
- Work closely with the production and installation teams to ensure accurate execution.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, consultants, or site conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date records and drawing logs.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings upon project completion.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in HVAC drafting with GI duct specialization.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, and familiarity with Revit or other BIM tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, duct types, fittings, insulation standards, and SMACNA guidelines.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes for sheet metal ducts.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
