Description:
We are seeking an experienced Joinery Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, BOQs, and production costing for custom joinery, fit-out, and furniture projects. The candidate will work closely with design, technical, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure competitive and accurate project pricing from the tender stage through project execution.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed BOQs and material take-offs for joinery and fit-out works.
- Estimate materials, hardware, finishes, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Coordinate with design and technical teams to clarify project requirements.
- Prepare cost breakdowns for production and installation activities.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support the procurement team in identifying material requirements and lead times.
- Analyze project risks and pricing factors.
- Maintain updated cost databases and productivity rates.
- Assist commercial and project teams during tender submissions.
- Compare estimated quantities against actual production and project consumption.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Interior Design, or related field.
- Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in joinery estimation within UAE.
- Strong experience in custom joinery, furniture, and interior fit-out projects.
- Ability to read architectural, interior, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, veneers, laminates, solid wood, MDF, and production processes.
- Experience preparing BOQs and tender submissions.
- Strong understanding of factory production and installation activities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or estimation software is an advantage.
