Parsons is looking for an experienced and meticulous Junior Engineer- Dry Utilities (Design) to join the EMEA team! In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design of major infrastructure projects. What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform design calculations and prepare engineering drawings for dry utilities (power, telecom, and related infrastructure), supporting senior engineers in day-to-day design tasks.
- Develop electrical engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design documentation in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Execute conventional and basic electrical engineering assignments, applying standard engineering theories, industry codes, and company procedures; utilize CAE/CAD tools to support design development and coordination.
- Provide technical input and guidance to CAD designers/drafters, reviewing drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design intent.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in dry utilities network designs.
- Recent experience of HV, MV & LV electrical design to local and international standards.
- Infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects understanding of the requirements for primary substations 132/11 kV, HV corridor, distribution /pocket substations, feeder pillars, MV systems up to 33kV, LV networks, calculations, and report writing skills.
- Good knowledge of National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA and IEC and various local authority standards in the GCC like DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, Civil Defense, etc.
