Legal Assistant

 

Description:

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Legal Assistant to join our London office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a legal career while gaining hands-on experience working closely with solicitors across a range of matters.

The successful candidate will support the team with legal and administrative tasks, including document preparation, case management, legal research, and coordination of deadlines, hearings, and meetings. This role will involve a significant amount of administration, so it would suit someone who is highly organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling high volumes of legal support and administrative work alongside substantive legal tasks.

The role requires someone who is highly motivated, able to use initiative, and capable of managing responsibilities effectively with minimal supervision in a busy legal environment.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing case files, records, and general document administration
  • Handling a high volume of administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinating meetings, hearings, court dates, and key deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Conducting legal research and collating supporting documentation
  • Assisting solicitors with preparation for hearings, meetings, and ongoing casework
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of legal matters across multiple practice areas
  • Ensuring files and records are maintained accurately and in accordance with firm procedures

Qualifications and experience

  • Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment is preferred
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or proofreading documents is advantageous
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in legal research and document/case management systems is an advantage
  • A law degree, Legal Studies degree, or similar academic background is preferred
