Description:
Acacia University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Remote Librarian to manage and support the university’s digital library services. The Librarian will play a key role in providing academic research support, maintaining digital resources, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and enhancing the overall student learning experience in an online environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the university’s digital library resources, databases, and e-journals.
- Provide virtual research assistance and information literacy support to students and faculty.
- Conduct online library orientation sessions and research workshops.
- Assist students with citation formats (APA, MLA, etc.) and academic research tools.
- Curate and expand digital collections aligned with academic programs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements related to library services.
- Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum development and research needs.
- Maintain records and prepare reports related to library usage and resources.
- Evaluate and recommend new digital platforms, databases, and academic tools.
- Ensure proper licensing and copyright compliance for digital materials.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in academic library services (online experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of digital library systems, research databases, and e-resource management.
- Familiarity with online learning environments (LMS platforms).
- Understanding of accreditation standards related to academic libraries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
