Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to review and verify the infrastructural materials
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct tests on asphalt, concrete, and soil, and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date testing logs.
- Identify, document, and track material non‑conformances; prepare compliance and certification documentation.
- Monitor material deliveries and associated approvals; review mix designs and verify calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate sampling and testing activities with contractors; support audits through proper records and documentation; maintain full material traceability.
- Review contractor material submittals and secure required approvals in line with relevant standards and project specifications.
- Act as the focal point at site for scheduling, controlling, and tracking construction materials and related equipment.
- Perform site inspections to confirm that the works comply with contract specifications and approved materials.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of subconsultants responsible for material testing.
- Maintain project material records and office files; prepare and update daily diaries.
- Prepare daily reports and other project documentation as required under the contract.
- Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the works.
- Proactively identify potential issues, conflicts, or risks related to construction materials, and report them to the supervisor with proposed solutions.
- Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and other material‑related documents.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of job safety practices and assist in the preparation of safety reports.
- Participate in the preparation and improvement of quality control procedures and reports.
- Perform engineering calculations and support the preparation of graphs and charts using appropriate mathematical methods.
- Observe, check, and record that work execution is in accordance with approved methods and procedures.
- Verify that delivered materials match approvals and are stored, handled, and protected correctly on site.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bacehlors Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering .
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in roads and infrastructure projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Thorough familiarity with construction processes and practices relevant to roads and infrastructure.
- Preferably experienced working within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including dealing with local authorities for approvals.
- Equivalency certificate (as applicable to Abu Dhabi/UAE regulations).
