Mep Design Engineer Cum Draftsman

Description:

We are looking for a MEP Design Engineer cum Draftsman to work in our office in Abu Dhabi.

Requirements:

1. MEP Design & Engineering:

• Develop HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing system designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IPC, etc.).
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to integrate MEP systems seamlessly.

2. Drafting & Documentation:

• Prepare detailed MEP drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Create shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for MEP systems.
• Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design changes.

3. Coordination & Site Support:

• Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, and civil components.
• Conduct site visits to ensure proper implementation of MEP designs and address any technical issues.
• Assist in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities), material specifications, and technical reports.

4. Compliance & Quality Control:

• Conduct design reviews and value engineering to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards in MEP designs.

· Identify and resolve any design conflicts or technical issues before construction

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software will be an added advantage.

· Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

· Ability to perform MEP load calculations, energy analysis, and system selection.

· Experience in MEP coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or similar tools.

· Understanding of MEP-related codes and standards (ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, NFPA, etc.).

Educational, Experience & Soft Skills Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.

· 7 to 10 years of experience in MEP design and drafting.

· Previous experience in UAE consulting firms, contracting companies, or design offices is a must.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
