Occupational Therapist

Description:

As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at WLDY MEDICAL CENTER, you will assess and treat children with a wide range of conditions, aiming to improve their daily living and working skills. Your work will enable children to be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives and will involve working with children who face physical, sensory, or cognitive problems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the client's skills in areas such as fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and self-care activities.

- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's specific needs, strengths, and limitations.

- Utilize therapeutic interventions to address developmental delays, improve sensory integration, enhance motor skills, and promote positive behaviors.

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and parents to provide holistic care.

- Regularly monitor and document the client's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

- Engage in continuous professional development to ensure the application of evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy.

- Provide guidance and education to family members regarding therapeutic strategies and home activities.

Requirements:

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

- Current DoH, DHA or MOH licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility).

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist, with a strong preference for experience in pediatrics.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and team members.

- Knowledge of a wide range of therapeutic interventions and approaches relevant to pediatric occupational therapy.
