Operation Executive

Description:

Join Portlink Cargo’s commercial team as a Pricing & Operations Executive. You will own pricing strategy and day-to-day operational coordination across sea, air and land freight services. This role requires someone who can combine market analysis with hands-on rate negotiation and ensure operational compliance — all while keeping profitability and customer satisfaction front of mind.

Role Responsibilities:
▪ Pricing Strategy: Develop and maintain competitive pricing models for sea freight, air freight and land transport services based on market data, cost inputs and customer segmentation.
▪ Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor rates and seasonal demand to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
▪ Rate Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms and rates with carriers, agents, and vendors to secure favourable contracts and margin protection.
▪ Operational Coordination: Work closely with operations teams to ensure quoted rates are executable, coordinate bookings, and address service exceptions.
▪ Customer Proposals & Quoting: Prepare clear commercial proposals and quotations, respond to RFPs, and support sales teams with pricing rationale.
▪ Compliance & Documentation: Ensure pricing and operations comply with applicable shipping regulations and internal policies; maintain accurate rate cards and contractual documentation.
▪ Performance Monitoring: Track profitability by lane/service, produce regular pricing reports, and recommend corrective actions to optimise yield.

Mandatory Requirement:
▪ At least 2 years’ experience in the same pricing/operations role within the UAE — this is essential.

Skills & Competencies:
▪ Strong commercial acumen and numerical/analytical skills.
▪ Confident negotiator with proven vendor/carrier negotiation experience.
▪ Familiarity with air/sea/land freight pricing models and operational workflows.
▪ Good command of Microsoft Excel and ability to build simple pricing models.
▪ Clear communication skills and ability to liaise with customers, carriers and internal teams.
▪ Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.
