Payroll & Implementation Specialist

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll & Implementation Specialist for our HR Department with at least 6 - 10 years of proven experience. The individual would have prior experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes for UAE employees in compliance with labour laws, company policies and WPS requirements for medium-to-large-sized businesses.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following Mandatory Requirements:

  • a strong understanding of finance and financial terms with a degree in Accounting or Finance
  • a strong understanding of UAE Jafza Labour Laws
  • a strong prior experience in payroll integration for Microsoft Dynamics or an ERP system
  • As part of the HR team, the Payroll & Implementation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the transition from manual to automated payroll systems. They will work closely with both the Finance and Implementation teams to ensure a smooth, accurate, and well-coordinated process

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an HR team member, the Payroll Specialist will take the lead on payroll automation efforts, partnering with Finance, IT and the Implementation Team to streamline the process and ensure successful execution. Having prior experience in this is mandatory to enhance system functionality.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for UAE employees in compliance with labor laws, company policies, and WPS requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution, reconciliation, and closure within the HRMS system.
  • Responsible for salaries disbursement, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records, including benefits, deductions, and leave balances.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Record, track and reconcile accruals (gratuity and leave salaries)
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and coordinate with Finance for month-end closing and audits.
  • Administer benefits and deductions related to insurance, loans, and end-of-service entitlements.
  • Liaise with their HR Team on onboarding, exits, promotions, and changes affecting payroll.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing the required payroll data and documentation.
  • Identify and implement improvements in payroll processes and system efficiency.
  • Stay informed on changes in local labor laws and payroll regulations.
  • Address employee payroll-related queries professionally and in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (with a strong understanding of finance).
  • Minimum 6 - 10 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll best practices and labor regulations.
  • Prior Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central payroll module (mandatory)
  • Experienced in the preparation and disbursement of the End of Service benefits as per the UAE labor law.
  • Strong familiarity with HRMS systems and payroll integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
