Description:
We are seeking a technically-focused Piping Designer to lead the engineering of integrated piping systems for high-stakes data centre liquid cooling applications.
This is a hands-on design role rather than a management or leadership position. We are specifically looking for a specialist who brings:
- Software Mastery: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Plant3D (or similar tools like CADWorx/PDMS) to develop detailed 3D models and piping layouts.
- Sector Expertise: Strong experience within HVAC and/or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environments.
- Production Knowledge: Direct experience working with manufacturers and/or fabricators to ensure designs are optimal, practical, and cost-efficient.
- Collaborative Design: The ability to work with business development to create conceptual designs and take products from concept to prototype.
Key Responsibilities:
- Piping Design: Develop detailed 3D models and pdf drawings for Data Centre projects.
- Stress Analysis: Perform piping stress analysis to ensure system integrity under various operating conditions.
- Material Selection: Specify piping materials, components, and fittings based on project requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to industry codes and client specifications.
- Technical Support: Provide support during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting of piping systems.
- Cost Management: Contribute to project cost estimation and ensure designs are completed within budget and timeline.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: HNC, Degree, or Post-Graduate qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years in piping design within construction, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, or oil & gas industries, (Ideal previous experience with HVAC and/ or MEPs).
- Critical Environments: Exposure to Data Centres or critical environments is highly desirable.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interface with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing.
