Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer - Structures to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and manage structural engineering projects across a variety of infrastructure domains
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in the design and construction of conventional, segmental, precast, and steel bridges, as well as tunnels.
- Oversee the development of innovative and cost-effective solutions for complex structural challenges.
- Conduct structural analysis and modeling using advanced software tools to ensure safety, durability, and performance.
- Collaborate with architects, geotechnical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs into broader project frameworks.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by the engineering team.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction techniques, particularly in bridge and tunnel design.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on bridges and tunnels.
- Proven expertise in the design and construction of conventional, segmental, precast, and steel bridges, as well as tunnels.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, MIDAS, CSI, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, Eurocodes, or equivalent).
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
