Principal Generative Ai Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Principal Generative AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced GenAI solutions across our products and internal platforms. The successful candidate will drive research and implementation of LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, retrieval systems, multimodal applications, and enterprise-ready AI capabilities. This is a senior technical role that works closely with product, engineering, data, and business teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-value AI experiences. Responsibilities - Lead the architecture and development of generative AI solutions, including LLM applications, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and AI agents. - Define technical strategy and best practices for model selection, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and software engineers to turn use cases into production-ready features. - Build and optimize retrieval systems, vector databases, embeddings workflows, and multimodal AI components. - Establish frameworks for model evaluation, safety, quality, hallucination mitigation, latency optimization, and cost efficiency. - Own experimentation and prototyping efforts to validate new GenAI ideas and assess technical feasibility. - Guide the integration of AI systems into existing product and cloud infrastructure with attention to scalability, security, privacy, and compliance. - Mentor engineers and contribute to standards, architecture reviews, and AI engineering best practices. - Support roadmap planning, technical discovery, and executive-level communication for AI initiatives. - Stay current with the evolving GenAI landscape and proactively identify opportunities to improve products and workflows. Qualifications - Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 8+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI product development, with strong hands-on experience in generative AI. - Deep experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and agentic systems. - Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools. - Strong understanding of AI evaluation, retrieval quality, inference optimization, and production deployment patterns. - Experience building scalable AI systems in cloud environments and integrating them with enterprise applications. - Excellent technical leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. - Ability to balance research innovation with production reliability and business value. - Experience working in B2B, enterprise, industrial, or data-rich environments is a plus. - Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
