Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Wet Utility Engineer to join our team! You will get to do complex engineering task related to water/waste water projects for a progressive team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting sustainable water resource management practices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water infrastructure projects, including water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
- Experienced water systems engineer with expertise in project management, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Skilled in feasibility studies, technical assessments, and design optimization for water systems.
- Proficient in hydraulic and hydrological modeling for efficient water system design.
- Experienced in water demand calculation, supply strategies, and reservoir planning.
- Expertise in transmission, distribution, storage, and transient analysis for large-scale projects.
- Skilled in valve arrangements, hydraulic chambers, looping techniques, pump stations, and sustainable water supply design.
- Experienced in water demand planning for strategic and development infrastructure projects.
- Supervises and mentors junior engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Reviews and approves technical reports, designs, and calculations.
- Coordinates with clients, contractors, government agencies, and stakeholders to align project goals.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations on water quality, safety, and environmental protection.
- Prepares reports, permits, and environmental impact assessments.
- Conducts design reviews for engineering solutions, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Resolves issues during design, construction supervision, and post-contract phases.
- Conducts site inspections to monitor construction and maintenance activities.
- Promotes sustainable water management practices, including recycling and conservation techniques.
- Explores opportunities for integrating renewable energy sources into water systems.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in water engineering, with a focus on infrastructure design and resource management.
- Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological modeling software (e.g Infoworks WS, Bentley Software’s and Autodesk civil 3D, Esri GIS).
- Expertise in BIM for infrastructure, network clash detection, and resolution.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, distribution systems, and environmental regulations.
