Product Engineer

 

Description:

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Product Engineer Turbomachinery at Mamba® Turbodrilling Services, based preferably in UAE, UK or EU, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Product Engineer will assist our Engineering Department Managert, mentored, he will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving turbomachinery products. Key tasks include conducting research and development (R&D), creating product designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer will also analyze performance data, manage projects, and support product testing and deployment.

 

The successful candidate will work on a full-time basis and will be tasked with contributing towards Mamba’s ongoing and existing turbomachinery product development and engineering activities, such as:

- Learn new skills from senior engineers while applying your own knowledge and experience to solve complex problems

- Developing and improving performance model of hydraulic drilling turbine

- Calculate and apply empirical hydraulic calculations in drilling applications

- Use CAD to develop and improve components and assemblies

- Use scripts and available frameworks to setup and run CFD simulations

- Work on full-scale experiments to validate product performance

- Product technical documentation and manuals as required

- Frequent travel to multiple global workshops/offices to interact with customers and train assembly fitters to build and maintain turbine equipment

- Liaise with manufacturers and vendors to ensure component tolerances & QC compliance

Essential Criteria:

- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in the following or related disciplines: Mechanical, Aeronautical

- Experience of design software (SolidWorks / CATIA / Autodesk Inventor or similar)

- Have beginner to intermediate level skills in CFD and hydraulic modelling

- Ability to read, understand, and produce technical & manufacturing drawings

- Excellent computer skills with a good knowledge of MS Excel

- Methodical approach to solving challenging engineering problems

- Ability to prioritise work and manage several tasks concurrently

- Highly motivated and can demonstrate self-initiative

- Possess excellent communication skills

 

Desirable Criteria:

- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience

- Experience of CFD modelling and simulation software and frameworks such as: ANSYS, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, etc

- Basic competence in programming language(s): C++, C#/.Net, Python
