Description:
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating marble and granite works from design and fabrication through site installation and final handover. The role ensures that stone works are executed according to approved drawings, quality standards, timelines, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Site Coordination
- Supervise marble and granite installation works at site.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, installers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure works are carried out as per approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Monitor daily site activities and project progress.
Technical Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings, cutting lists, and material take-offs.
- Take and verify site measurements before fabrication and installation.
- Coordinate samples, mock-ups, and material approvals with clients and consultants.
- Resolve technical and execution-related site issues.
Factory & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with factory/production teams for fabrication schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of marble and granite materials.
- Monitor fabrication quality, finishing, and cutting accuracy.
Quality Control
- Inspect marble and granite materials for quality, finish, alignment, and joint detailing.
- Ensure installation methods and fixing systems meet project specifications.
- Identify and report defects, damages, and variations.
Planning, Cost & Documentation
- Assist in project planning and scheduling.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Maintain project documentation, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
- Support snag-list closure and project handover.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe handling of stone materials.
- Report unsafe practices and participate in toolbox talks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in the marble, granite, or stone industry.
- Strong knowledge of stone types, finishes, fixing systems, and installation techniques.
