Registered Nurse

 

Description:

The Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre is responsible for providing safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role requires hands-on experience in robotic-assisted surgeries, including preparation, operation support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CMR robotic surgical systems, while ensuring adherence to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Function effectively as a Scrub Nurse and/or Circulating Nurse within the Operating Theatre.
  • Assist surgeons and the multidisciplinary team during robotic-assisted surgical procedures.
  • Prepare, operate, and support the use of CMR Robotic Surgery Systems during surgical interventions.
  • Conduct pre-operative equipment checks and ensure robotic systems are functioning optimally.
  • Ensure proper positioning, safety, and monitoring of patients throughout surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and comply with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and OT staff to support efficient operating room workflows.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance, inventory management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Support staff education and training related to robotic surgery procedures and equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical outcomes and patient experience.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or equivalent.

 

Valid Registered Nurse licensure.

 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of Operating Theatre experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Proven experience assisting in Robotic Surgery procedures.
  • Hands-on exposure to CMR Surgical Robotic Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, patient safety, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
