About You

You have a passion for logistics and to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment. You are driven to exceed goals through people. You have interest for home furnishing, people life at home, and the IKEA range.

  • 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in sales, supply chain, logistics.
  • Understanding of budget, cost and key performance measurement used to plan, follow up and steer the business.
  • Skilled in creating an efficient and cost effective commercial performance.
  • Understand the business plan process in the store.
  • Understand and actively use all IKEA manuals; build your competence based on the manuals In-Store Logistics and Retail Supply Integration the IKEA way.
  • Numerical skills.
  • Understand sales steering and how to optimise store capacity and secure availability.
  • Ability to lead based on performing and delivering while learning and developing.
  • Ability to build trust and communicate in a clear and targeted way with different people in various situations.

About The Role

You will lead and manage the Sales and Supply Support team in the store to create and constantly improve excellence of availability and range management. You will synchronize with commercial needs and activities for the best possible goods availability at lowest possible total cost. Being an active partner in the commercial team and work as a communication link between the store and country Retail Supply Integration.

Key Specific Accountabilities

Commercial & Financial

  • Contribute to the fulfilment of the customer promises created by the Communication & Selling process by actively working to secure and maintain the availability of goods through the minimisation of non-central shortages and the monitoring of central shortages.
  • Support in creating awareness in the commercial team on availability issues and thereby enabling their action to minimise the impact on customers.
  • Actively support sales with the range management, in-line with country range decisions; and to aim for a qualitative and timely administration of the range in the system.
  • Highlight deviations between the range frame connected to the store range classification, country range agreement and the actual range (size) to sales.
  • Assist the In-store Logistics Manager to administer the store range in accordance with the country range decision and store range classification; and ensure all relevant parameters are updated to allow the article to be replenished and sold in the store.
  • Provide the sales team with a forecast alignment for strategic articles, by highlighting discrepancies between central and country/store forecasts.
  • Follow up on the agreed range for the store to ensure it is stocked and/or offered in the store and to highlight to the concerned party the need for any corrective action.
  • Secure goods availability for customers at the lowest possible costs in order to strengthen the main objectives of IKEA to be a leader in life at home in the local market and achieve growth and sustained long-term profitability.
  • Monitor the automatic ordering process and initiate actions in case of disruptions to the order flow that jeopardize availability for the customer.
  • Ensure that structural supply deviations (e.g. supplier or transport performance related) which threaten availability or store operations are made known to concerned teams and to ensure they are addressed with the supplying partners.
  • Monitor and follow up sale goals for key articles identified in the business agreement between IOS and retail sales.
  • Work closely with the sales team to agree on the most commercial sell-out approach of discontinued articles offered via the central customer delivery channel in order to maximize sales and safeguard gross margin.
  • Contribute to turnover by maximizing service level 365 days per year, in line with the agreed goal setting; concentrating on minimizing non-central shortage and supporting active sales steering, by providing shortage and overstock information to shopkeepers.
  • Reduce cost and work with more efficient tools and procedures to deliver the required.

People Management

  • Support the creation of an environment where the IKEA culture is strong and where the diversity of customers and co-workers is valued.
  • Help and support colleagues in the store as well as to share knowledge with them.
  • Identify what motivates the team and their capabilities & ensure training plans are in place for the team to develop them as needed.
