Description:

As a Senior Account Executive, you will be a key contributor to our client teams, playing a vital role in executing strategic communication plans for our financial sector clients. You will be instrumental in managing media relationships, developing impactful thought leadership content, and supporting comprehensive corporate communications campaigns, specifically targeting B2B and B2G audiences.

This position offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in the financial landscape, actively engaging with journalists and key stakeholders, and helping to position our clients as industry leaders. Youll gain hands-on experience in proactive media outreach, crafting compelling narratives, and contributing significantly to the strategic development of client messages. You will also begin to mentor more junior team members, championing Bursons values and contributing directly to the success of your accounts and the wider practice.

What Youll Do
 

  • Proactively manage media relations, pitching stories and developing strong relationships with financial and business journalists.
  • Lead the drafting of press releases, media alerts, Q&As, and corporate messaging for B2B and B2G clients.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives, including researching topics, drafting outlines, and contributing to the development of op-eds, articles, and whitepapers.
  • Monitor media coverage, analyze trends, and provide insightful reports to clients, including recommendations.
  • Coordinate and execute logistics for high-profile press conferences, media briefings, and client events.
  • Conduct in-depth research on financial markets, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to inform client strategies.
  • Support the development of client presentations and communication plans with well-researched insights and clear narratives.
  • Begin to mentor and guide junior team members, ensuring high-quality execution of daily tasks and project components.
     

Experience That Contributes To Success
 

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in public relations or corporate communications
  • Proven track record in media relations, including successful media pitching and building journalist relationships.
  • Strong experience in developing and executing thought leadership content (e.g., op-eds, articles).
  • Solid understanding of B2B and B2G communications within the corporate and financial sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft clear and persuasive content.
  • A keen interest in financial markets, economic trends, and geopolitical developments.
  • Proactive and organized approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with media monitoring tools, research databases, and presentation software.
