Senior Accountant

Description:

An established oil & gas client based in Dubai is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor to join their finance team. This role is suited for a detail-driven accounting professional with strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience in complex accounting environments, and the ability to manage reporting and compliance independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
• Manage VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, including coordination with external auditors, tax consultants, and advisors.
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and provide full support during internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity and reliability of financial data.
• Support management with analytical insights and financial reviews as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within Oil & Gas companies or with Big 4 firm exposure.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
