Description:
A leading Sports & Fitness club in Dubai is currently seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee core accounting functions within a dynamic, multi-revenue environment. This role is ideal for professionals with strong UAE experience in sports clubs, gyms, fitness chains, or hospitality businesses. The position reports directly to the Finance Manager or General Manager and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full set of accounts including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Prepare monthly financial statements, MIS reports, and detailed variance analysis
- Oversee revenue accounting covering memberships, personal training packages, court rentals, and events
- Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and manage petty cash
- Ensure full VAT compliance, including return filing, audits, and proper documentation
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit processes
- Handle payroll accounting, accruals, and provisions
- Ensure adherence to UAE accounting standards and tax regulations
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including multiple branches where applicable
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6 to 7 years of UAE experience, preferably within sports clubs, fitness centers, or hospitality
- Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or Odoo
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing multiple revenue streams
- Familiarity with club membership management systems
- CMA or ACCA qualification (partial or complete)
- Immediate availability or short notice period
